Some years ago, ok, many years ago, I was serving on the Staff Parish committee of my United Methodist church in Larned, Kansas were I was a member enjoying our farm life and raising two children, Mindi and Paula. When the new pastor was to be appointed to our church, we were told that our next pastor could be an ethnic minority or a woman.  My immediate reply was, “I don’t think I could relate to a woman pastor.”  Now I am one!  Does God have a sense of humor or what?

God took all my life experiences, the good, the bad, and the ugly, and with forgiveness and the nurture from church folks brought about blessing after blessing. God has worked miracle after miracle since that day and I am here to say that I preach out of the experience of radical grace and prayer without ceasing so that all may know this awesome God I serve.

My time as Administrative Assistant for the church has been a very rewarding one. I have come to know many of the members on a personal basis and enjoy the growth we all have shared. I enjoy my work. Through my experiences I have become passionate about our congregation and helping all feel connected. Alex is a Sterling College Senior majoring in Music Ed.  He is originally from Russell, Kansas.  The church has been blessed to have Alex directing our music for 3 years.

Ken and Vicki Colston
Sound Technicians

Ken and Vicki have been operating the church sound system for approximately 8 years. They have been well trained and are knowledgeable with the entire system. Ken usually manages the system during church services and Vicki during weddings and funerals.  They enjoy serving the church and the church is blessed by their servant's heart and willingness to serve.
